In contrast to its related Part 1, this movement is written for the jazz trio and woodwinds. The character is also completely different, being vivid and full of movement. To portray these features, there are clear melodic themes present on “Eyes 2,” as well the use of rhythmic “hits.” This is the only track with a soloist outside the rhythm section, namely the clarinet. The concept of silence represented on this track is the same as “Eyes 1,” except the meaning is “mirrored.” That is, this movement is about when someone feels comfortable with you in complete silence. Furthermore, it refers to how you learn about someone else through time and the visual idea of the reflection of someone’s eyes on your eyes.

The theme of silence and its many poetic meanings unifies this project. Each movement reflects a different implication of the word “silence.” There is a poem written for each one of these meanings, attaching words to each composition in this collection, to enhance the meaning and communication of the instrumental material. It is important to observe that these concepts of silence are not literal. They are mostly personal and philosophical.
