about

“Things Money Should Not Buy but Seem to Be Always for Sale” was the last piece written for the album "About: Silence". This movement portrays the "political silence", or silence by convenience. That means when someone decides to not speak up to avoid conflict and keep being part of some "status quo".
This track has plenty of improvised parts and an almost complete absence of thematic material.
It features the trio of guitar, bass, and drums, with the woodwind quartet.

lyrics

The theme of silence and its many poetic meanings unifies this project. Each movement reflects a different implication of the word “silence.” There is a poem written for each one of these meanings, attaching words to each composition in this collection, to enhance the meaning and communication of the instrumental material. It is important to observe that these concepts of silence are not literal. They are mostly personal and philosophical.

Poem by Marco Antonio Santos
English translation by Francisco Vilhena

Picture the following scenario
A sterile body
Covered, closed and in silence

The body conflicts
The skin hides
The voice does not deliver

In the market of bodies and people
buy body
sell voice
All is bought
Sold

An eternal roamer of laps and nations

Am I a mistake?
Am I a solution?
I am a vacuum – a hiatus – transient

People hard as rocks
Tear and perfurate
Even pain comes with a price in the market of civility

Venomous people with the pushback
Clenched fists punching through the backs of the heads
The conflict, the tear, the outbreak of canine teeth – sold

An eternal roamer of laps and nations

Are you a catchfrase of social disobedience?
Are you a repressed loved of apparent muscles?
Are you selling in the market of silences – ideas –
ideals
